Coal Power Plants in Tamil Nadu - a decade of false starts and falling performance

At the start of this decade, when Tamil Nadu was reeling under an acute shortage of power, capacity addition to the tune of 50 GW was proposed. This report looks at the status of the proposed plants and finds that only one of them has been commissioned, and most others shelved.
